i guess just some thoughts and a update will do.
-i am totally content with staying at andrews until i graduate. no more thinking about switching to another school, or what ifs. i go to an amazing school, have amazing friends, and have countless opportunities to better myself and the world here. i dont think i'd be better off anywhere else on this planet.
-its starting to bother me when my friends at other schools start to diss my school, or the state my school is in. i wont diss your school unless u do it to mine. and just for reference, my school IS better than yours. so stop before i say things that won't be so nice....theres ALOT wrong with the school you go to.
-progress in my classes? im doing pretty well. im getting the holds of music theory III alot better than the beginning of the semester, and gchem im surviving and maintaining a decent grade. also im the top in my photo class, and i only have 3 more projects left for the semester.
-cello wise, ive been blessed to go to a school that has alot of musical opportunities. this past month, 2 wonderful string chamber ensembles came to perform at the HPAC. the first one was the Sphinx chamber orchestra. they were amazing and had a good concert list to perform. the cellist was kind well known also, paul wiancko. i met them =D. but the COOLEST thing was later next week the winners of the 2010 Fischoff chamber competition came to perform here. For those that don't know what that is, the Fischoff competition is the largest, and one of the most prestigious chamber competitions in the country. basically saying they were pretty top-notch in the nation for this year. Also all of them came from Curtis. If you are not familiar with the name, its the best music school you can get into in the country, and pretty much the world. its better than juilliard. All the students attend on a full-tuition scholarship, and it has the lowest acceptance rate of ANY school in the US. not even ivy league, UCs or stanford compares. I got the group's autograph =D yes im a nerd. also relating to cello, i finished the elgar cello concerto, and plan to enter the 4th movement in the young artisits competition. i also plan to win.
sidenote: i would give you the world if i could mom. i know you work so so so hard to support me and my brothers. you are everything to me and i wish i could be there for you while you go through your daily life. just know, im going to work as hard as i can so i can get a good paying job so you wont have to worry about finances or anything. you can come live with me later on, i promise. when i get back for break, ill give you a good massage and cook you anything you want. love and MISS you so much.
awesomeness: my journey with simba has been quite a wild ride. for those that dont know, simba is my beloved DSLR canon 40D. we've been together since summer of 2008. recently tho, hes been acting up and i had to turn him in for repairs. anyway, long story short, Best buy doesnt want to repair him, so they opted to give me $1400 is store credit for me to stop complaining. not bad right? i am using that credit to buy myself a 7D, and the cost difference my dad is gonna pay for as a bday gift. thanks dad
will i still keep the name simba? yes i will. simba will forever be my personal camera, regardless of the model. even if i get a higher end one.
