i dont know

this just made me think so much:

i recently just got presented with the opportunity to be part of a upcoming acapella group. one of the members from the ambassadors (not the filipino one or the white people one, its the black one) assembled a group to potentially be the last one b4 he retires. its his dream to get a group together that is unlike anything hes ever been a part of, and whats cool is he has alot of hookups for record deals, promoters, and videoshoots. i got really really nervous tonight because this guy traveled from chicago, and some even came as far as new york just to be able to practice this weekend. they flew in to PRACTICE. wow. anyway, the other members are either black or hispanic, and most of they learn music by ear. they cant read music but theyre very good at what they do - singing. i just felt kind of out of place because this genre isn't the most comfortable genre of music for me, even though i do appreciate the diversity and style alot. i dont even know if my voice fits the character of this style, since ive been used to pop, sacred, or choir style singing all my life. def not this stuff. but if this pulls through, i will have the chance to tour internationally several times a year, not to mention travel all across the US. most if not all my expenses will be covered, and ill be making anywhere from $500-2k a weekend on those tours.

like i said, idk if im super comfortable with all this, since i have to learn everything by ear. but im willing to give it a try. the last time i felt this uncomfortable was the beginnings stages of LLA drill. i def did not have any background in drill, and it was def a long and hard experience, but a good one. so because of that and how that turned out, im willing to give this a shot, but im GOING to keep this clear to the group and to myself:

school will ALWAYS come first. im here because of school and my grades, music, and life here at college (as long as im in school here) will always always take priority. im not about to chase some random opportunity and throw away my life and future because of a slim shot at being "famous". im not sure if i have a timeline, but once i hit dental school. that will def take priority. but as long as God works things out, i will give it a try. theyre willing to be flexible with me, so i wont say no.

this is such a big and RANDOM opportunity, so we'll see how this all pans out in my future. prayers please.

goodnight
