have an uncanny ability to mess with our emotions. being an avid photographer, i am partial to that format of art, but it lacks the power to complete a story like a movie can. movies can incorporate sound as well as visuals (and in the case of 3D, a form of "touch"). anyway, two movies that really touched me which are currently in theaters now are these:
Tron: i have to admit, i never heard of tron prior to watching it despite this movie being a sequel. in any case it was an amazing movie. outfits/clothing was cool. story/plot line was decent. visuals/graphics were great. and the music was KILLERR...that may have been due to the fact that daft punk was commissioned. just freaking amazing movie. i feel like i want to be digitized now.
Narnia, Voyage of Dawn Treader: i havent read most of the books from the narnia series, only the magicians nephew and the lion the witch and the wardrobe. but all that aside, this movie was pretty legit. what really got to me is the end where lucy finds out that this is her last time in narnia forever. she then asks aslan if she will see him in her world. he then tells her, "in your world, i am known by a different name. you were brought to narnia so that you could know me better in your world." *(paraphrasing) i got pretty emotional at that moment. and it all was over when the credits started to roll with this song.
typical emotional/feel good orchestration, but AMAZING lyrics. fit the movie oh so well. i was seriously moved by this movie.
on some other notes, it FINALLY stopped raining! after some flash flooding and partial mudslides, LL looked like crap this morning. streets were blocked off and closed, and it took more than twice the amount of time to get somewhere. im sure most of the city is cleaned up by now, but this ordeal reminded me of florida. also, i managed to take some shots of the beautiful almost full moon tonight, but at the expense of dropping my awesome camera =/ i think its fine but its because of the dumb and ghetto tripod and lens i was using which is why it slipped. im just so mad at ghetto equipment. ah. oh well
